Make-A-Wish at Elements Salon and Wellness Spa
Wenatchee, WA.- Elements Salon and Wellness Spa will assist the Make-A-Wish Foundation by offering a day of pampering to an 11-year-old Waterville girl this Saturday.
Erin Wagner will receive a haircut, style, manicure and pedicure as she prepares for her eleventh birthday party. Wagner will be joined by her 8-year-old sister and mother Jody. Wagner has been diagnosed with Truncus Arteriosis, a congenital heart defect that occurs due to abnormal development of the fetal heart during the first eight weeks of pregnancy. Wagner has undergone a series of surgeries to mitigate the life-threatening condition and will receive another surgery in August. Prior to the August surgery, Wagner will enjoy the trip of a lifetime to Disney World through the Make-A-Wish Foundation.
“The trip to Elements Salon and Wellness Spa is a surprise for Erin,” explained Jody. “She has only had her hair cut professionally one other time, and has never received any sort of pampering. We will take her down to the spa for the royal treatment, and then she will head off to a surprise birthday party. During the party, she will be presented with the plane tickets and an itinerary for the trip to Disney World. It’s going to be an incredible experience for her.”
“Elements Salon and Wellness Spa has been incredibly gracious in their contribution,” explained Make-A-Wish volunteer Sheri Harvey. “They were very willing to offer their services to make this a very special day for Erin.”
Since 1980, the Make-A-Wish Foundation has enriched the lives of children with life-threatening medical conditions through its wish-granting work. Since its humble beginnings, the organization has blossomed into a worldwide phenomenon, reaching more than 161,000 children around the world. A network of more than 25,000 volunteers enables the Make-A-Wish Foundation to serve children with life-threatening medical conditions. Volunteers serve as wish granters, fundraisers, special events assistants and in numerous other capacities.
