Local salon and spa owner receives national-level industry training
Wenatchee, WA.- Valda Sarty, owner of Sarty Mountain, Inc. and Layna St.
Germain, recently attended a three-day salon-industry seminar at the Salon
Services Academy in Renton, Washington.
The seminar, called Strategies Business Series 4.0, is the first in a
four-part series of graduate-level Strategies courses. The training was held
April 5-7 at the Salon Services Corporate Training Theatre.
The three-day seminar focused on a leadership mantra, "no compromise" that
Strategies founder Neil Ducoff first articulated over ten years ago while
teaching The Strategies Incubator. Since then, "no-compromise leadership"
has evolved into a revered business philosophy and a best-selling business
book. In Strategies Business Series 4.0, Sarty engaged in the most in-depth
exploration of the thinking and behaviors that drive the four business
outcomes as the "no-compromise leadership" philosophy is unveiled. The
seminar was taught by Strategies Director of Education Lorinda Warner and
Strategies Certified Trainer Leslie Rice of Fort Worth, Texas.
This seminar is unique in that it focuses squarely on the thinking and
behaviors that drive each of the four business outcomes. This approach not
only targets the systems themselves, but also challenges salon owners and
managers as no-compromise leaders to ensure that constant momentum never
wavers.
"This was a very valuable experience as the "no compromise" concepts
presented perfectly align with my business philosophy. My team at Sarty
Mountain, Inc holds a "no compromise" attitude and strives to bring a 'no
comprise' experience to our customers. It is a philosophy that both my team
and clients have come to expect and appreciate. We are using this series of
training to sharpen our commitment and accountability to our existing and
future customers." explained Sarty.
Valda Sarty is the owner and founder of Sarty Mountain Inc., which
encompasses a variety of salon and spa locations including Elements Salon &
Wellness Spa, Refuel Spa and Elements University. Sarty was awarded the
coveted "Best Retail Philosophy" award by Skin Inc magazine as well as
honorable mention designations in the "Top Spa Mentor" and "Employee
Friendly Salon" categories in August of 2007. Sarty Mountain Inc. has also
been named as a top place to work and Elements Salon & Wellness Spa was
named favorite salon by the readers of the Wenatchee Business Journal in
2006 and 2007. Sarty also received the Entrepreneur of the Year award
presented by the Greater Wenatchee Area Technology Alliance in April of
2007, the Benefactor of the Year award by the YWCA in December of 2007, and
the Outstanding Business Achievement award by the Women's Resource Center in
December of 2006. Sarty is also a member of the Best Practices Club, an
invitation-only networking community of industry innovators.
Strategies was founded by Neil Ducoff, one of the most respected minds in
business education for more than 30 years. Throughout the company's initial
history, Strategies entrenched its expertise in the professional salon, spa,
hotel resort and medical spa industries, delivering Fortune 500 business
systems to a core group of service industries where there was-and still is-a
rich demand for progressive business training and consulting.
With growth comes evolution. Given the synergy between Strategies' core
business teachings and those being used in today's leading corporate
environments, demand started to increase for Strategies' coaching and
education services across a wide array of businesses.
